ABOUT THE SUMMIT

The AgriBizniz Summit 2013 took place 15 and 16 August, and was a new initiative falling under the umbrella of the established African Farmers Workshop and Expo. This two day conference provided delegates, captains of industry, executives, academics and observers within the agribusiness value chain with an opportunity to engage, debate and network on critical issues within the sector.


The programme was a mixture of high-level panel discussions, with a unique combination of commercial leaders, government input and agri-finance, and ground-breaking presentations from those in the forefront of agri-development .


The Summit was predominantly marketed via Moshate Media’s existing relationships within the agricultural arena which had been created by the development of the African Farmers Workshop and Expo. That said coverage secured within BizCommunity, the Mail and Guardian and Business Day alos gave the Summit a substantial presence.





ABOUT THE SUMMIT

The AgriYouth Indaba 2013 was a resounding success, from the perspectives of the youth, the entrepreneurs, and Excellence in Farming Awards. It is essential for the development of the project to look at the growth holistically, and to host the Indaba in other provinces. We have identified the key provinces for 2014, with a view to further reach and development in 2015 and beyond. It is therefore proposed that the AgriYouth Indaba takes place in 2014 in:


  • Gauteng: 12 August (confirmed)
  • Limpopo: 4 August (confirmed)
  • Kwazulu Natal: 16 October (TBC)
  • North West Province: 23 May (TBC)


OBJECTIVES OF THE SUMMIT

To address youth development in a holistic strategy that encompasses political, economic and social dimensions.

• To inspire and encourage young people of South Africa to tap into agriculture
• Promote and propel entrepreneurs in agriculture throughout South Africa
• Assist in supporting agricultural innovations by Youth.
